I hope you enjoy em, Flyboy. The first 20 minutes or so of 28 Days blow me away every time. And the movie, to me, is A+ stuff up until the military shit. Then it drops a bit.
28 Weeks is a great film, and on it's own merit too. It does it's own thing while still staying connected to the first.

The scene in 28 Weeks Later where the character "Don" is running away from the infected (near the beginning of the film) is enough reason for me to enjoy it. That scene made the cost of admission so worth it.

As the slowest runner on the face of the planet I find myself scared doo-dooless every time I watch that scene.

It's also my favorite scene! In fact, that whole opening is pretty great. I actually think the whole film is good.

It got a little annoying sometimes how "Infected Don" was always showing up out of nowhere and managing to always avoid being killed, but aside from that I quite enjoyed it especially since they didn't try to give it a Happy Hollywood ending. I also enjoyed the aspect that not one good deed performed by the protagonists went unpunished, which is something you rarely see in movies.

Good point about "no good deed going unpunished", DTN. To me the most disturbing scene was when Doyle bought it.

Yeah that was a bit of disturbing scene when he got torched, and with that look on his face he knew it was going to happen too.

That scene makes me cringe every time. Some have said that it's not that painful of a death. Once the nerves die, it's pretty much painless. I can think of 10,000 other ways to go. It's a pretty ballsy thing to do, not sure if I could do it for strangers.

I always wish he lives when I watch that part. I hate seeing such a great guy/character go down like that.

It's a damn heroic death. I think it's a great way to die in a movie, go out on top, a badass hero.
