Did you get the gold foil or regular cover? I'm a huge nerd for having them both.

I think that I have convinced myself to buy the Euro dvd. A local store has it for $15. It would round out my "Zombi" collection.

My FYE has or had one for $20. Not sure if it's still there or not. I want it but I don't want to drop $20 on it especially since it's more than likely the exact same disc in the Ultimate Edition.
I'll pay up to $10 for it just for collector's purposes.

Did you get the gold foil or regular cover? I'm a huge nerd for having them both. I bought the regular cover- didn't see the foil version there. The selection was really limited, and the only used "Dead" flicks they had were copies of Dawn ('04) and the crappy Day remake. I was thinking of going "used" at first, or at least looking for different versions in the used bin, but that was a big no-go. As for the "nerd" bit- no comment here. No need to explain that one, man- a love of film excuses all!

I've only seen the foil cover in stores maybe once recently & that was at a random Best Buy I visited. Most of the time, it's just the normal cover. My very first copy of the Divimax DVD in 2004 was the foil cover but then again, I got it within a few days of its release. I purchased the second foil cover at a place that sells used DVDs for $5 a pop.
I'll pretty much always go used unless something is really cheap new or if the used product in question is in shitty condition.
I wear the nerd tag with pride!

I ended up trading off one of these DVDs(the normal cover) since there's not really any need for me to own it since it's exactly the same as the gold foiled version. Plus, it netted me $5 in trade at FYE, which is good. I paid like $7 for the DVD brand new so it's all good. I also traded in my 30th Anniversary Edition of NOTLD '68 because that piece of shit was probably going to collect dust on my shelf anyway. Plus, I'm moving in less than two months. Two less things to pack.

FYI, I ordered this Dawn DVD the other day from Amazon & am expecting it soon: Scans coming sometime soon. Whenever I get it. I have only been able to find the directors cut in the 4 disc ultimate edition and not in 5.1 surround sound. Is this one in 5.1? This is my favorite version.

I don't think it is. That release is from 1997. It's so old school that you have to flip the disc over to finish the movie. Haha.

This was the first version of Dawn of the Dead I ever purchased. Since Dawn wasn't readily available in DVD shops in Australia in 2004 I had to purchase it over Ebay from a guy who imported DVDs. Its the dutch DVD cover, but the movies are still in English. It came with the Director's Cut on the 1st disk and the European cut on Disk 2. Just earlier this year I purchased Trilogy of the Dead as I wanted all of my Dead DVD's to be compatible with my PS2. Was dissappointed to see the Theatrical cut for Dawn instead of the Director's cut but oh well. Here's the cover for the Australian DVD
