Okay when big daddy comes out of the water and starts to attack Fiddlers Green Soldiers theres a Refrence to a character from Day of the Dead!!! Look closely to the black haired Latino looking guy playing cards that gets his head ripped off. On his Military Fatigues its the actual Uniform that Ralph Marreo AKA (Pvt Rickles) From Day of the dead!! it says --Rickles--.
But Wait theres MORE!!
Dosent say or show who he is played by, due to some editing. But when Simon Baker (Riley) and everybody else is getting weapons and stuff in the locker room, a soldier taunts charlie bcz of his Down Syndrome the soldier in the back "Who you dont see, by the way" is named "Steele" who is played by Gary Klar in the Orginal! 666 How do i know this, you ask?
Well, if you turn on the English Subtitles for the Hearing Impared on the DVD extras you can see the Letters in Dialog
Steele: *Laughter*
(When he makes Fun of Charlie)
This piece fires 14 rounds a second!
Qoute Line: I dont usually need that many...
I usually dont talk to Retards!
You see? Tell me what you think or what i left out Thanks 4 reading!!!! ;D

Charlie didn't actually have down syndrome. It seemed more of a case of him just always being a bit slow in the head or him suffering minor brain damage from the fire he was involved. Interesting factoid about those two guys called Steel & Rickles though. I wonder if that was Romero's decision or if someone in the props department thought it'd be neat to bring out the old costume.

Maybe Land was in an alternate timeline where these two surivived the bunker invasion in Day.

An alternate timeline is possible since there is no legit connection between Night, Dawn, Day and Land, Diary and Survival.

Land is probably for all intents and purposes a stand-alone film.
Night - DAWN - Day
Land
Diary - Survival
That's how I see it.

True.
This is another example of the sequel being better than the first. (Looking at you DAWN)

Yeah I'd consider Survival a sequel/spin-off of Diary since Sarge was in Diary(the d-bag that took shit from the Winnie).
