didnt know where else to post this but i guess this board is good for games to?
anyhow, i'm a big fan of these games, the 1st one was really fun and so was the sequel (which improved on th original alot in many ways) also the DLC was good for connecting the stories
the next game in the series is called Dead Rising 2: Off The Record, heres what wiki says,
Announced at Capcom's 2011 Captivate press show, Dead Rising 2: Off the Record features Dead Rising hero, Frank West, in a reinterpretation of the events from Dead Rising 2. The game will be released in Fall 2011 for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC. In addition to a new storyline and gameplay enhancements, Off the Record offers many technical updates including load time optimizations, improved network performance, and other system upgrades. New missions, cutscenes, environments, enemies, items, vehicles, and weapons will be available. Like the original Dead Rising, players will be able to earn Prestige Points (PP) for specific photo opportunities that are graded against criteria such as horror, drama, erotica, humor, and brutality
sounds cool, i'll get it, any other fans of these games?

I recently bought Dead Rising 2 in a "2 for 1" deal at EB games with Red Dead Redemption. Been meaning to try it out sometime, but I'm still hooked on Fallout new Vegas. Not sure I'll ever try out Dead Rising 1 though. I've heard the lack of save points and a few other game mechanics make the experience rather frustrating instead of fun.

I hated DR2 I mean its very fun at first to kill zombies in various ways but the time limit is so annoying it spoils the fun for me.

its even more a pain when you go for the zombie genocider achievements, i'm only on about 11,000 kills out of 72,000! and it takes forever! and its quite boring driving the SUV over them in the Silver Strip constantly and do main cases as apparantly it gives you more time in the end to kill zombies as you get overtime mode,
i wish i wasnt an achievement whore/completist lol

Loved the first one, shamefully have yet to play the second one. I was a bit miffed that Frank West wasn't the main character anymore. I'm looking to pick up "Off the Record" though.

Been playing a lot of Dead Rising 2 lately, and that game fucking rocks. There's something very satisfying about creating some makeshift weapons and slaughtering a horde or zombies. Also its amazing how many zombies they can generate on screen as well without the hardware crapping its pants.
My only gripe with the game is the time restrictions on all the missions. You can easily blow off all the missions and psychopaths, and just go all sandbox style, but I just hate the fixed times. It requires a lot of time management if you want to find a balance between the two.
Also gas zombies are a pain in the arse. I have no idea why they felt the need to include those quicktime events.

I'm also keen on picking up Off the Record as well especially since they eliminated the Time restrictions and replaced it with a food meter; but, I've been waiting for the price to come down on it more since its essentially DR2 with the exact same map bar one new area, a different character, and some new weapons.
How far have you gotten in DR2?

I'm not too far in. Maybe a few hours. The time restrictions having to look for medicine for Katey are putting me off so I doubt I'll really play the game much more. Annoying. Other than that, it's a fun game.

I hear you about that. What's bizarre though is that the gameplay seems to want you to start over a few times so your character starts off stronger at the beginning. Its such a strange gameplay mechanic, and its real easy to fail on the first run through since your health is so low and the psychopaths can cream you real easy. Best piece of advice I can give is to carry a pain killer or two in your inventory when it come's to boss fights. deadrising.wikia.com/wiki/Pain_KillerThey will make the game so much easier
