Since I've made the plunge into hi-def and Blu-ray, I figured my inaugural Blu-ray would have to be Dawn of the Dead, because it's still my favorite horror movie ever made...and because it was cheaper than the Back to the Future box set.
Anybody else own it?
I haven't watched it yet but skimmed through it. It looks pretty fuckin' beautiful but you can also notice more flubs with the make-up and special effects haha. Still, it's pretty awesome and I doubt it'll tarnish my views on the film once I view it all the way through.

Surprisingly I don't own this on Blu-Ray yet. The reason is pretty simple--I already own it in a couple different formats, but I never bought the Ultimate Edition so I was waiting for that to come out on Blu-Ray. Simply hasn't happened yet.
Speaking of the BTTF Blu-Ray set, Best Buy has it on sale for $24.99! It's normally $60 so I jumped on that.

$25 for the BTTF trilogy is amazing! Too bad there's no Best Buy around here.

It was on the website too. Not sure if that price is still on there but it might be worth a look!
Scratch that, I just checked for you. Back up to normal price.

So now that you've made the move what do you plan to do with all of your old DVD's? Are you going to upgrade them all or just your favourite movies?

As long as he has a good Blu-Ray player, it'll upconvert normal DVDs to look pretty damn good. Not Blu-Ray quality, of course, but still more than watchable.

I just have a Vizio Blu-ray player and I dig it because I can stream Netflix through it.
I'll probably upgrade some of my stuff, especially the Blus I can get for a decent price. I saw the RoboCop trilogy at FYE for $20 so that'll be one I upgrade. I have the set on DVD as well...just going to compare special features haha.

Netflix is awesome. I used to have a subscription, but since I also have AT&T U-Verse 450 (the biggest package haha) I get every movie channel plus all OnDemand included, so I always have a shit ton of movies at my disposal.
