I watched this movie last week and really it was scary and creepy one, i never seen such a good horror movies for a long time. The story was interesting, great acting ( especially I liked Lin Shaye's acting) and i thought it was like a modern, better version of Poltergeist. It is about a kid who enters into unexplained coma and his parents call a paranormal expert to help them bring him back. I would recommend this movie to anyone, this is must-see if you like horror. It's amazing how the horror genre keeps getting better each year. This one should make all those modern horror haters eat their hats.

I would recommend this movie to anyone, this is must-see if you like horror. It's amazing how the horror genre keeps getting better each year. I see its from the Director and writer of the original SAW movie not the sequels so I feel re-assured that those guys can deliver. It also has a 7 on IMDB which is a solid score. Just be careful with statements like this. Not because they're inflammatory, but you're instilling great expectations for the movie. Many a time I have been told such things and what I experience is an entertaining movie, but not the mind-blowing masterpiece people build it up to be. Also what exactly is the modern horror genre? Is it just movies made in the 2000's or do movies in this genre have some defining trait?

I'd say modern horror is from 2000 and on, at least in my opinion. Most of which is Rob Zombie bullshit, movies that rely too heavily on CGI and other visual abortions, unoriginal remakes, and Saw(original is pretty good though) nonsense. Horror anymore is hit or miss, mostly miss. I would like to check this out since I do like the combo of James Wann and Leigh Whannell, however.
And as always, there are always exceptions to everything.

It doesn't rely on CGI only, it relies on a good story. Wann and Whannell never dissapoint, Saw and Dead Silence were also very good films.
