I finished now watching this, I think its one of the best this year, an Impressive comeback for John Carpenter. It's about A girl ( Amber Heard) who is institutionalized after burning down a farmhouse, and being terrorized by a ghost in the psychiatric hospital. I recommend it if you like Amber Heard, Carpenter or ghost/scary movies in general.

IMHO, Carpenter has never topped his success with The Fog or Halloween. Since then he has just been a bit lackluster. Let the flaming ensue.

Seriously? So you didn't even like The Thing?

I think Carpenter hit his high note with The Thing personally. Yes Halloween is probably his greatest accomplishment and I prefer it to anything else he's done, but The Thing is just... awesome.

The Thing was incredible but I'll take Halloween and The Fog over it.

Amend my list to add The Thing. A great flick it is and one I don't watch nearly often enough.

I'll actually take Halloween 1 and 3 over The Thing, haha.

Village of the Damned and Vampires were also very good.

I dig They Live and Prince of Darkness as well.
Back on topic of The Ward, I heard it was actually pretty decent from credible people I trust when it comes to horror flicks so I'll check it out one of these days.

Wait....this isn't a Burt Ward biopic?

I think it should have gotten a wider release. Isn't Carpenter's name enough to draw audiences into the theatres these days?

Most teenie boppers like yourself don't even know who Carpenter is.

I don't mind most of Carpenter's stuff, although Ghosts of Mars was a bit of letdown. It had potential but it got ruined with its flashback format. Completely killed all the atmosphere and suspense. Ever since then his stuff has been a bit below par

Most teenie boppers like yourself don't even know who Carpenter is. Being a fan of modern horror does not make me a "teenie bopper".
