Sorry I've been meaning to watch this but things keep getting in the way. So this is that Arma II mod correct? Kotaku gave it a very favourable write up: This might be the greatest zombie game ever made ~ KotakuSounds like they've finally nailed the apocalyptic survival aspect that makes zombie fiction so appealing.

well my PC turned up and I gave tis a go. wow. This is great...just creeping around trying not to attract zombies is really freaky. At night-time there is litterally no light - it's really hard to see what your're doing without cheating (turning up the gamma) but by turning up HDR to max your gfx card adjusts things to make it more realistic - and as such you start to make things out. I was doing quite well but unfortunately one heard me and started chasing...as I ran away (like a big girls blouse) I attracted a couple more - I didn't want to shoot as I was in a town, so I noticed a road out of town which went up a hill...eventually (now around 5/6 on my tail) I noticed a small hill in the distance so I went on the grass - going onto the grass meant the noise I was making was less so less likely to add to my chasers! At the top of the hill I turned and popped them all - man that was tense! I had taken a few hits and lost a chunk of blood - I bandaged myself to stop the bleeding as another zombie arrived at the top of the hill - I popped that one and had a look around - there was a building site on the other side of the hill so I made my way over - view was shaking and int. blurring from the blood-loss. I made it into the half-finished (block of flats?) building - and checked it out - empty. Went up some stairs and took a breather. Eat some beans took some pain killers and got myself together. Shaking stopped and blurring reduced I checked out the building and found quite a few bits and bobs lying around. Cans of soda & beans. A few shots and empty bottles (good for distracting zombies so I hear) and some flares. I take stock of my surroundings (as best I can in the middle of the night!) and ready myself for the next stage of my adventure Apparently Arma II & OA are $15 on steam at the moments - best money you'll ever spend!

Wish I had a PC powerful enough to handle such a game.
Watch out for bandits Gaz. I hear they're quite the nuisance in this game.

yeah, already been killed by snipers a couple of times (just minding my own buisiness lol). I dunno...would people really be that bad? Surely it'd be saftey in a small group? I hope things will settle down a bit by the time it's finally released as a full product...but man it's great stuff. Regarding your PC - mine is nothing special, I picked it up 2nd hand for ~£200 ($300?) what you need is a half-decent multi (pref quad) core CPU - the gfx card is less essential in this game but it helps. My CPU is a Q6600 and it runs the game nicely (GFX a HD4890) - this website is great for gauging what you might need: www.cpubenchmark.net/

Funny thing is I used to hate FPS games on the consoles because aiming was harder; however, I was playing Blood on my Laptop over the weekend for a little bit and I got a cramp in my hand using the W,A,S,D keys and the keyboard. I think I've gotten too used to using the Xbox controller that it's kinda uncomfortable going back to the old way. I prefer the controller now since I can just rest my hands in my lap whilst holding it.

yeah, I was a bit worried - but then I remembered back in my days of Ghost Recon I used to have one of these (currently $20 used on amazon): www.amazon.com/Microsoft-E06-00001-Sidewinder-Strategic-Commander/dp/B00005U21VThey are great, just rebought one and awaiting it's arrival - but in short the top part moves in the direction you can walk (ie pus forward to walk forward, move right to strafe right etc) - then you have 6 programmable buttons with 3 shift buttons (so IIRC that means potentially 18 different programmable buttons). So for example, in DayZ you have to double tap a button to do something or press 2 buttons at the same time? Just program one of the buttons to each feature - so now you just need to press one button - right at your fingertips! It's fully Win7 compatable too, my only question is why MS didn't continue with this product!?
