Don't know if the rest of you guys have heard about Kickstarter, but its a funding platform that people can use to finance their own creative projects (eg. Music, Comics, Video Games). Basically these independent developers, put forth a target budget of how much they'd need to complete their project and if you like their concept you can pledge money to a person's idea; however, if enough funds aren't raised for said project then all pledges are cancelled and you keep your money.
I'm starting this thread for any zombie/horror games or other cool video game ideas.
The Dead Linger:
This game managed to reach 258% of its target funding. It says the game will be a giant First Person Zombie Survival Sandbox game where you can set your own goals "Scavenging, exploring, fortifying, building, barricading, and of course, fighting off the zombie hordes."
As for the size of it:
If they can effectively pull all that off that would be one hell of a Zombie game, but they have set up some high expectations now.
Zombie Oregon Trail
This one looks pretty interesting too. Whilst there already is a Zombie Oregon Trail (Organ Trail) game out there this one will be a First Person Survival Adventure game. You still have to reach Oregon, and worry about health, rations and all the finer details of survival; but whenever you stop to scavenge it plays out like a FPS like Doom, except with better cel-shaded graphics. Anyway check out the Developer's video and see for yourself

Personally I like the concept of the FPS Zombie Oregon Trail, because I've always wanted Dawn of the Dead The Video game. Not where you're just holed up someplace fighting off zombie hordes but you have to navigate your vehicle/helicopter through a devastated countryside to a safezone scavenging supplies and having to worry about your survivors health and resource management.

"The world of The Dead Linger is randomly generated, and it is the size of a small planet. We don't simply mean it's large, we truly mean it's planet-sized. About 25,000 kilometers, to be exact. Every new world created will be different, and you can explore every inch of it, indoors and outdoors, every window, every door.
