I watched this on VHS today. Pretty neat to watch it that way since I've never owned this on VHS. I first saw it on a tape back in the early 1990s. My friend recorded it off one of the movie channels & I thought it was crap. I'm glad my feelings on this have done a complete 180. Love this movie to death.

I used to watch this on VHS all the time. My Mom is a big Halloween fan, they are usually the movies she watches around the season. She never cared for III, mostly for the same reasons as everyone else. I'm still trying to convert her on it.

Season of the Witch is so fantastic it's boggles me as to why so many people dismiss it because Michael Myers isn't in it.
I still think it would be amazing if this movie was released in 3D with masks instead of glasses.

Tell me about it. Especially with this movie being better than every Halloween movie(especially the Rob Zombie ones) after it aside from Halloween 4. I like 3 & 4 about equally.

For me it's 1, 2, 3, 4... after that, it gets a little sketchy. 6 would probably be next. The bottom 3 would be Resurrection, Zombieween, and even though I haven't seen it, Zombieween 2. Normally I wouldn't condemn a film I haven't seen, but I've heard a lot and read through the spoilers online. Plus I trust your guys' opinions on it.

Zombieween II is just downright shitty. Worse than the movie before but you should give it a watch sometime just to see it. Brad Dourif is pretty good in it but could've been used more.

Yeah I'll wait for it to hit dvd and I'll give it a rent. Waiting to watch this thing won't bother me in the slightest.

Confused about why Michael Myers isn't in this installment? Here's the story:
Michael died at the end of "Halloween 2" as John Carpenter intended too when he wrote the script for Halloween 2 back in 1980, it was suppose to be the last movie with Michael Myers. He wanted to end his story including Loomis's story by blowing them up at the hospital in the climax and having Laurie live a normal life with Michael sent to hell. Carpenter came up with a concept to turn the franchise into a big screen horror anthology like "Twilight Zone", "Creepshow", "Tales from The Crypt", "Heavy Metal", "Cat's Eye" etc. of different horror tales every year about the title holiday.
This was the first and only film of the series to experiment on this concept but unfortunately John Carpenter didn't tell audiences this concept or marketed it, thus when it came out the film confused the audience and it bombed at the box-office. The anthology concept died a quick death with fans demanding Michael to return and Carpenter with Dino De Laurentiis studios left the franchise to Moustappha Akkad with Halloween 4 The Return of Michael Myers.
I thought this was an interesting and excellent Sci-fi horror thriller in the vein of HP Lovecraft with memorable scenes and a great score including a solid performance by Tom Atkins.
