An underrated movie that deserves its own thread apart from the other Halloween films since it has nothing to do with them except for footage of the first Halloween shown on television. Once upon a time when I was a kid, I hated everything about this movie. Then I became a teenager & started to slowly appreciate how rad of a movie it was/is. And today, I love it even more than ever. Killing kids on Halloween with masks is fucked up. It's sick. It's morbid. It's taboo. It works, well at least in my opinion. Atkins & the late Dan O'Herlihy really shined in this movie. It's not Citizen Kane or Ernest Goes to Jail but it's a fun, underrated, & under appreciated little slice of Nurse Karen's 1980s pie. It's written off as shit immediately when people see that it doesn't feature Michael Myers. And like I've said 1000 times before, that whole argument is irrelevant to me. It goes in one ear & out the other. If people watch it & give it a fair chance then deem it a bad movie, then that's fine. STOP ITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!

I share your love for this one, brother. I love this damn film. Turning a kid's head into a foaming heap of worm puss is the greatest thing, ever. Atkins is a badass. Cochran is such an evil bastard that he's lovable.
Wife: How was your day? Tom: Well, lets see. There was this guy killing kids with halloween mask, so I went up there and stopped him. And during that I bagged this chick that turned out to be a cyborg. How about you? Wife: Well, that's nice hun. Oh, the dryer is acting up again.

I like this movie as well, but think it should not have used the Halloween name. If it was just titled Season of the Witch it wouldnt have gotten the bad press.

Probably true. If people watch it without the name Halloween stuck to it, they will love it. It's just a damn fun movie.

There's a Romero movie called "Season of the Witch" but I don't see why that'd stop them from using that as the title since there are a lot of movies out there with the same title. I'm sure they threw the Halloween title on there to cash-in on the previous two films. Either way, I love this movie.

Did Ellie turn into the robot when she was taken by Cochran and put in that room. Or was she a bot the whole time. Her demeanor was really changed after being in that room.

I think she was killed during that time & Robot Ellie was created. If you watch it numerous times, you can tell something is up after Challis saves her because I believe she doesn't speak a word at all.

That's what I thought. She doesn't say a word.
What do you think happened after the screen goes black at the end? Does the TV stop the commercial, or do little Johnny and Jane's brains get cooked?

I think a lot of kids got their brains cooked. Challis probably went out for a drink since it was late & all.

It seems that when something bad happens, all that Challis can say is "I need a drink" or "It's getting late, and I need a drink."
Who's your favorite character from the film?

Challis...obviously since it is The Atkins.
I also love Conal Cochran. A great & underrated villain. I love his speech about Halloween. It's almost chilling.

Yes it is. It should remind us of the "true" nature of Halloween. He's really playing the ultimate joke. I wonder where he went when he was vaporized by that Stonehenge rock. There are so many dimensions to this flick that people forget about.
For me Cochran is my fav. Atkins is a very strong 2. I just have to root for the villain in this case.

I like this movie as well, but think it should not have used the Halloween name. If it was just titled Season of the Witch it wouldnt have gotten the bad press. John Carpenter and Debra Hill planned for every Movie to be a different scary story kinda. hence why this has the Halloween title. "If it was just titled Season of the Witch it wouldnt have gotten the bad press." I agree with you 100% on that though i'm a massive halloween fan, i wont shy away from saying that 4 and 5 ( the re-introductin of myers) although being ok, were the worst of the whole series. Halloween 3 is awesome!!!
