Wow what a cool movie. And yes I am biased since it's a Larry Cohen movie but even if I didn't know Larry, I'd still think it's a nice little flick. A nutty cult guy sacrifices willing people to bring back the Aztec god, Quetzalcoatl. Q is just that, a winged serpent. It flies around & snatches people off of buildings & eats them. Michael Moriarty plays small time crook Jimmy Quinn & discovers that Q is nesting at the top of the Chrysler Building building. David Carradine plays tough cop Shepard, who is on the case & does research. He's the first to believe what's going on. Also starring Candy Clark(Frannie from The Blob remake), Jim Dixon, Richard Roundtree, & Aguado from Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. I heard there was a deleted scene where Aguado sees the size of Q's dick, becomes insanely jealous, & steps on him. Low budget but well-shot with some beautiful New York aerial shots. The low budget effects are really cheesy but they take nothing away from the movie since I'd rather see effects like that than CGI bullshit. The first 10 minutes of this movie kick ass. We get to see a decapitation, a skinned body, a topless sunbather snatched up by Q with her blood raining some drops on pedestrians, & Michael Moriarty playing some hilarious tunes on a piano. Speaking of Moriarty, he was absolutely great in this. He acted well & was very hilarious. And Carradine was awesome too. Definitely check this one out!
