No introduction needed for this classic, influential, masterpiece. Hitchcock's masterpiece. Inspired by Ed Gein. Based off the novel by Robert Bloch. Without this suspense/horror flick, many horror movies wouldn't exist today. Great cast. Good acting(except John Gavin, who as a bit rough & stiff...even to Hitchcock himself but still not that bad). Great, legendary, & very effective string score by Bernard Herrmann. The shower scene is something everyone knows about. The huge shock of killing off Janet Leigh halfway through the movie proved to be a huge twist & totally unexpected since the film followed her pretty the entire time up to her death. Perkins was absolutely gold in this movie. Sympathetic yet nutty. He pulled it off well. Also starring Martin "That's my shop!" Balsam as Arbogast. A very memorable death. It's a masterpiece in my eyes. Flawless. Even people always getting out of the passenger sides of cars because Hitchcock didn't want to move camera & make another shot.

It really is a masterpiece. I love the fact that they used chocolate syrup for blood because it showed up better. Really a piece that has a special place.
