Nothing scared me more as a kid than this movie, after many many viewings (and a few trips to the circus) i stick by my decision thats clown are most deffinatly EVIL!Tim Curry's performance as pennywise the clown gave me many a sleepless night (and a fear of drains)the 1st half of the movie with the losers club as kids is awesome, the scene with georgie was pretty disturbing and i read had to be tonned done for tv,i read that 7mins in total was cut from the movie but later restored for american tv in 1997,including a scene where the little girl from the start of the movie gets dragged down the drain by pennywise, the mother seeing this goes after her and pennywise lets go and the mother runs down the street screaming with her dead daughter in her arms, another scene with pennywise talking about the turtle,id really like to see these scenes, wish they would release a special dvd or something.

Pretty creepy movie. I enjoy it a lot.
"They all float down here!"
Man I remember being terrified of this when I was little!

Yeah like everyone else I remember watching this film when I was little.
I wasn't terrified since I was watching it during the daylight but, I'll be lying if I didn't get scared somewhat.
Man it was worse at night....I remember watching the film and then couldn't sleep...

This came out in the early 90's. I watched it and couldn't sleep with the lights off. "They all float down here" jeez that still creeps me out. Very effective film. I think it's one of the better adaptations of King's work.

I'm like the only horror fan who wasnt scared by this miniseries and thought the entire miniseries was cheesy and kind of boring. Too me clowns are annoying and not scary at all.

Not the only one, brother.
This was my first disappointment with King.
When I was in the USMC, I bought the book....and by the time I got to the point where Rodan is chasing the black kid around, I just put it down in boredome, never to pick it up again.
It's funny how alot of the harmless things in life scare us--little girls (ala The Exorcist), old people (aka Poltergiest II), clowns, etc...

I just bought the novel along with "Christine" tonight at BN.
This movie still creeps me out, doens't really scare me, but gives me the heeby-jeebies.

"Christine" is a great book.
But, my personal favorite novel has always been "Salem's Lot".

Great movie as well. One of those flicks I could watch at anytime.

Great movie as well. One of those flicks I could watch at anytime. I didn't like either film adaptation of "Salem's Lot". The book, on the other hand, is practically Shakesperian.

Give me The Stand and The Shining anytime when it comes to SK books. This one was kind of a joke if you ask me

I like The Stand. The Shining didn't do anything for me, not sure why. I know it's a great piece, just not my thing.
