Wasn't the naked zombie a little risque for 1968? I forget what I was watching, but there was a lady (may have been O'Dea) doing an interview. They were showing film of NOTLD and she said "and here comes the naked zombie".

It probably was, but I guess people just chose to ignore it.

Not too risqué.
Nudity with a sexual context is what prompts people to lose their shit. Otherwise, it's just a person (or zombie, whatever) who happens to be naked. No big deal.

But just think, 10 years earlier you would have never seen that. That's a good deal of progression, in my book.

In the NOTLD DVD commentary, Marilyn Eastman is like "there's the nude!" when the naked zombie shows up.

But just think, 10 years earlier you would have never seen that. That's a good deal of progression, in my book. One example that comes to mind is an old drug propaganda film called Marihuana ( www.imdb.com/title/tt0026683/), released back in 1936. I got my copy out of a bargain bin, and one third of the way through this anti-educational piece of shit, you're treated to not one, but FOUR fully-nude chicks frolicking around on a beach thanks to that devil marijuana. Not to mention the vast amounts of art pieces through the ages that prominently feature nudity.

One can pass away at any time during anything (cheery thought). What I am suprised at is that there was only one naked zombie. If some event like that should happen there would be many for many different reasons, but they basically had one zombie per walk of life in the original because of the budget.
Was it too racy? No, it really was not. It was a low budget independant film that answered to no studio so anything goes.

I don't think it was too racy or anything at all. There were a few brief butt shots & you could see her boobs but they were covered up with shadows for the most part.
She probably died before or after getting ready to take a shower/bath.

Or while banging that one zombie who looks like he's wearing a nightgown.

Hahahahaha.
The nightgown really draws in the ladies.
