"Dawn's effects were innovative along with other earlier zombie & gore movies that went that route " However , the gore effects and zombie makeup were absolutely terrible in Dawn. Personally , I hate cheap gore, {Gore that doesn't look in the least bit real}. Fortunately, it was fixed in the remake, and in most modern horror films the gore look real. Remember that DAWN was supposed to have a comic book feel. Romero wanted it to be somewhat goofy, but gory at the same time.

Didn't Romero overrule Savini on the "look" of the guts and blood in Dawn because the faker stuff looked cooler on film?

Personally , I hate cheap gore, {Gore that doesn't look in the least bit real}. Fortunately, it was fixed in the remake, and in most modern horror films the gore look real. However, I think the gore effects & zombie make-up were absolutely great in Dawn. I thought the non-CGI effects in Land were pretty damn great as well. Yeah the gore does look real in a lot of modern flicks due to them having more at their disposal. There are many effects groups like KNB around. Not that many were around in 1978. If not for Dawn, Tom Savini, & his effects, I don't think many people would've formed their groups. Personally, I hate shitty ass CGI that tries to pass off as good gore. CGI gore is NOT good. It's faker than practical effects, even the older ones. I like how every time you stop here, which seems to be every few months or so, you try to start some kind of argument about how CGI is amazing, how Hollywood is amazing, how Land of the Dead is the best of the Dead series, or how Dawn has shitty effects. It's pretty tiresome & I'd even put it along with trolling & baiting because you know most of us are hardcore Dawn fans. It's cool to have an opinion but to repeat yourself 99% of the time is tedious. We don't expect you to change your opinions. We certainly aren't changing ours. Fuck CGI.

However , the gore effects and zombie makeup were absolutely terrible in Dawn. Gore effects- What you expect! zombie make-up- Yep, agree. I'm no Dawn hater but, yeah the make-up was bad! I much prefer the traditional Night zombies with thier simpicity and Day zombies with thier rotten and decomposing looks. Fortunately, it was fixed in the remake, and in most modern horror films the gore look real. Which, flicks are you talking about?

Ay...
Omer, he was refering to when you said
"However , the gore effects and zombie makeup were absolutely terrible in Dawn. Personally , I hate cheap gore, {Gore that doesn't look in the least bit real}. Fortunately, it was fixed in the remake, and in most modern horror films the gore look real."
Maybe next month you will get it.

I'm watching this at the moment & pretty much all of the headshots are CGI. He should've just used some squibs because CGI headshots are probably some of the worst uses of CGI ever imagined. Goddamnit George.
