I never thought of the zombies munching on Logan's corpse. It could've happened.

I know it doesn't show it, but I always assumed that Logan caught a projo from Rhodes' M-16 on an upward angle, like up through the underside of his chin. I know that if that was how it was supposed to have happened, given the penchant for dramatically gory deaths in this film they'd probably have showed his entire head coming off, but it's still a possibility in my own "reality".

I think if you watch that scene chosely it seems like the soldiers "blow the piss" out of Logans corpse...Looks like they shoot him several times from the chest upto the head so I think they probably headshotted him so he cant come back.

I know that he got shot up pretty bad, but I don't recall any headshots.

I'm still going with him re-animating at some point. It was more than likely off screen & a slowed-down transformation due to the cold of the freezer. But....if he didn't re-animate in time, the zeds probably would've gotten to him.

Not silly questions at all, but rather legit arguments. I would assume that zeds know one another by a scent that they put off. Necrotic flesh expels gasses. Perhaps the zeds can pick up on these scents. Meh, I don't know. I did see Dawn of the Dead the other day though. It looked when that elevator door was opening those zombies were about to pounce on Stephen but, as soon as they saw he was one of them they pretty much started walking away and on too other business.

Yes he should've become a zombie. It's a movie goof.

There was definitely no head shot. The Z's would surely have eaten him if he hadn't already reanimated. I always assumed his body lay in a walk-in fridge/cold room. Granted the door was left open but the cold may have extended his revival time and may have made him less appealing for a feast. Fisher was still considered meal worthy despite having been shot dead. I was always under the impression Logan's body was eaten.

Maybe it was symbolic?
Or maybe Dr. Logan figured injected himself with something that prevented him from coming back?

It could've been because I remember in the original script a character had died near the end & he never came back. Perhaps that happened with Logan since this was 1984-1985 & Romero probably didn't have a sequel in mind. It's possible. Or he just didn't think of the whole Logan thing.

Maybe he did come back as a zombie but the freezer froze him solid.

How in the hell did I miss this thread?
Anyway I've always subscribed to the freezer theory that the cold greatly slowed down his re-animation, or that it somehow staved off the process. I also don't think its too much of a stretch that the other zeds could've eaten his remains, considering Johnson's and Miller's bodies were still edible to Bub despite Johnson's head being re-animated.

Maybe Rhodes shot got him in the head which would automatically cause him not to re-generate.

Well we never see any bullet wounds on his head, but it certainly ties into 223fmj's theory of the bullet hitting him on an upward angle. Its not out of the realm of possibility as I remember reading in Black Hawk Down about a Soldier getting shot in the ankle and then the bullet exiting out the top of his calf. Bullets can do strange things when exiting a human body just look at the JFK assassination.

Perhaps Logan did figure out a way to prevent an automatic zombification after death. Proving there is indeed hope after all.
Although i think all of us would have loved to see a zombie Logan biting a chunk out of Rhodes' neck during the final confrontaion with Bub. I could just imagine the smile on Bub's face afterwards lol ;D
