This was a very good film. It was better then all of the live action Resident Evil films. I wasn't crazy over how they portrayed the Tyrant, but the zombies and the film were dead on.-

I still haven't seen this but want to.
I'm glad they got Alyson Court to return as Claire once again. Having just recently played through Resident Evil 2, I gotta say Claire is pretty damn awesome. Total bad ass just like her older brother.

Not to mention those short cut-off jeans she wore.

I don't mind full CGI movies when they're based off a videogames since these games were created with computers themselves. I liked Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children quite a bit.
I just don't like when movies have to use poorly done CGI effects in movies for bland action sequences or headshots. Or when they use CGI to create blood faker looking than red watercolor paint. :X

Or when they use CGI to create blood faker looking than red watercolor paint. :X It rarely happens anymore. CGI in today's films is usually well done. ( unless you're talking about obscure low-budget film). I can't recall the last time I've seen bad CGI in a Theatrical film.

Surprisingly pretty good overall. I enjoyed it & wouldn't mind more movies like that this continue the storyline from the video game series. The CGI didn't really throw me off since it's a continuation of a video game series that I love & also because the games themselves were created with computers so I can't really fault it there although some of the movements were stiff & some of the effects looked bad. They'd probably look even worse if the same effects were incorporated into a live action film. The G-Virus monster looked pretty stupid though. Not as cool as the Birkin Monster from Resident Evil 2.

The monster did look weetarded.
I'll have to give this another watch, just to be fair.
What's funny is that the CGI used in this looks like some CGI used in movies. It's hilarious.

I still don't think the movie is worth a $20 purchase despite me liking it. I'm glad I found my copy used for $12 store credit at my friend's shop. I traded in a handful of CDs to get it & the Eastwood flicks I grabbed yesterday.
Haha yeah it is pretty funny. CGI is better suited to be in movies like this rather than live action movies.

CGI is better suited to be in movies like this rather than live action movies. Agreed. What ever happened to the "magic" of making movies. Jesus, look at the old horror films from the 20's, 30's and 40's. Talk about ingenuity. I just don't like a film to try and be something it's not.

"Things only seem to be magic. There is no real magic. There's no real magic ever." -Martin
Although here & there we do see some magic in movies. Just not as often as we used to.
That's pretty much why I liked RE Degeneration. It's a CG continuation of a CG-created popular video game series. It didn't try to be anything else.

I agree that it's a good movie, also the CGI in this film is amazing and realistic. There should be more films like this.

I thought it looked cartoonish.

Well it's not exactly life-like, but it's way more realistic than cartoons.
