Hi there. I was thinkin' about the dead films (like always) and remembered the scenes where Roger and Stephen get bit. I believe the zeds were able to bite through their clothes. Did this happen in any of the other dead films? (bite through clothing) I'm not sure why this is bugging me, but i just can't recall. Also, it always seemed a little "off" that the zeds could bite through a pair of pants. Anyone else ever ponder this?

I believe that there was flesh chomping through clothes in Day and Land. I will have to double check.

Good point when I think of the other dead films I can only recall the character getting bitten on exposed areas i.e neck, arms, hands. Maybe this was a once off thing

There's nothing wrong with that as it makes for good conversation on a forum like this.

There's nothing wrong with that as it makes for good conversation on a forum like this. Guess that's what i'm trying to do. (get some discussions going) Most people i know in my personal life don't have as much interest in these films as i do. That's why a great site like this is an awesome thing. Cause i really do have a lot of questions

I wonder- if this was real ( )- would this be an issue? Think about this, a zed's not feeling any pain in its jaw when it bites down on something that won't yield. They have the potential to bite until they break skin, with pure pressure alone. From there it's only a matter of injecting some of their saliva or blood into the wound in order to spread a virus. I sincerely doubt that the human tooth/mandible/muscles are capable of ripping both flesh and denim, but I don't think they would need to in order to be a threat in "reality". Just my two cents.

Thats a very good point chris There was a discussion about the issue of human teeth on zombies on the Dawn of the Dead board at IMDB, and how it would be very unlikely to see them tearing off large chunks of flesh as depicted in the movies. This is because human teeth are very blunt as compared to say a Lion's teeth, who kill their prey by biting their throats and tearing off flesh, whereas our teeth have developed the way they have because of our hunter gatherer past and killing our prey with tools and eating and chewing the meat later. Yeah, if you're ever feeling brave (and enjoy eating rare or medium-rare beefsteaks) try taking a big bite out of one some time. Not so hard to break into it, but not so easy to completely tear off a piece, and that's with meat that's been softened by cooking it.
Of course, like I said, we still feel pain. Hmmm...

MMMMmmmmm... I love my steaks rare! So juicy and tender (if it's decent beef, that is).

I only remember this happening in Dawn, but I could be wrong. In Night, it was suggested and not really showed. In Day it was all teeth on flesh. I think it was that was in Land too.

The one scene in Dawn that sticks out is when Roger gets bit, right through his BDU's. Which, I don't think that they were rip-stop, so it would have been very difficult to bite through them.
