You know when they were down in the mines rounding up the zombie specimens, why on earth did the soldiers have their rifles slung up over their shoulders? I mean the first time it almost got Rickles killed, and the 2nd time the dude got his throat munched out. Or why didn't they blow off one of the zeds legs, just to make 'em less mobile= less dangerous. I think any one of us would be in full firing position. Silly silly stoned soldiers. dschoenike

Silly silly stoned soldiers. That's pretty spot on. All of the soldiers were just the left over kiss arses. Weak minded, that's why Rhodes had control.

They hadnt had proper chain of command in a long time, and have not been around other soldiers. So they have become sloppy and pathetic.

I always wondered why the hell did they split up at the end,i know rhodes ditches them but they should have stuck 2gether and moved through the complex as a unit, its weird cause they DO end up going the same way as rhodes through the caves but seperatly, steel seemd to be the only one that made it through only to meet a pissed of bub, another thing i wondered was what happened to steels m16,i know he was reloading when bub tries to shoot him but in the next scene the gun is nowhere to be seen in the room, phantom gun perhaps lol

Honestly, Day of the Dead is my personal favorite in the series, but the ending feels kinda rushed. Not much of a build up to the final events. It goes from Dr. Logan cracking up a bit to all hell breaking loose. Still love the film, but woulda loved to see the original script filmed, even more. The must frusterating part (back on topic with goofy army guys) is near the end, when the one guy is opening the gate to release the hooked granny zombie. I'm always like "get ready to shoot! get ready to shoot!" But, he never does, and he always gets his neck chewed up.
