Pretty simple plot... a bunch of kids go to this house where a creepy old lady kills them one by one.
Wikipedia says:
Dead Dudes in the House (also known as The House on Tombstone Hill) is a 1991 independent horror film written and directed by James Riffel and distributed by Troma Entertainment.
The film follows a group of teenagers who travel up to a dilapidated house for some fixing up. Unbeknownst to them, the house is occupied by a murderous old woman and her sultry daughter, who proceed to pick the teens off one by one.
For reasons unknown, Troma advertises the characters in Dead Dudes as "hip-hop teens", as evidenced by the actors on the video cover (who do not appear in the movie), despite the fact that there is no reference to hip-hop of any kind throughout the entire movie.
According to Troma president Lloyd Kaufman's book All I Needed To Know About Filmmaking I Learned From The Toxic Avenger, Troma fans consider Dead Dudes in the House to be one of the company's unsung masterpieces.
I remember watching this movie on Cinemax back in the very early 90's. After seeing it only a couple of times, both on Cinemax, I never saw or heard anything about this movie ever again. It sort of became this mission to find out what the hell it even was! It's a really crappy movie, but the kind of crappy where it's fun to watch. The best deaths are the window chopping a guy in half and the scene with the knitting needles. The whole thing sort of reminds me of a movie that a bunch of friends would make on a boring summer night. Definitely worth a closer look!
Oh, and if you're wondering why this is in the zombie movie section, the dead dudes come back!
