Answer 1) No i wouldnt have blasted it for being Unoriginal if it had followed the original closely. Thats sort of what i was hoping for..perhaps with a different twist on the story slightly. I certainly wouldnt want it stick so closely that it became the "psycho remake". Answer 2) were the original characters Highly developed? No. but they were developed. A lot more than the characters in the remake. There is more of a story to the original something that i thought was lacking in the remake. Being a Fan of the genre, not a "fanboy" i will say this. my opinions are my own and i stick by them...the remake was a good action film on it's own...but as a Dawn remake it was lack luster and not what i was hoping for. Since seeing this i have viewed subsequent "remakes" without expectations and a more open mind. ;D 1. If you're going to just remake the same flicks every twenty years or so, following the original to the point that it's really just a phoned-in rehash of the original script (like NOTLD 90), then what's the point? 2. The characters in the original Dawn were actually very poorly developed. We know little or nothing about these people from start to finish, and with a couple of small exceptions, none of them change very much. Especially the main character. And, the remake actually had a lot more going on story-wise than the original ever did.

I enjoyed the remake of Night to be honest. personally i dont agree with the whole fanboy/fan thing that you've got going on. If you like the movie, for whatever reason...then your a fan of the movie. And on original not having more going on than the remake...i shall agree to disagree.

After watching the Dawn remake a second time (picked it up at my local movie shop for 3$ to buy), I guess its not as bad as I remembered; its got its moments of entertainment but it still has nothing on the original dawn.

I'm usually down for watching this at anytime. Sometimes I dig the ending, sometimes I find it unsatisfying. I find the influx of characters somewhat confusing. When that lady that was infected comes in, her husband is by her side. She dies, and it seems like he just moves on, happy that she's out of the way. His scenes with the security guards were rather hilarious. I wish Snyder would have done the Day remake, could have turned out better.

Just sucked and the only good thing about this film was the cameos by Ken, Scott, and Tom.

I think it's an entertaining movie. I was surprised when I saw it that it was wasn't a huge pile of shit. It's nowhere near as good as the original but I think it's one of the better remakes out there as well as one of the better horror films from this dark age of modern horror.
Lots of good action & some good effects.

I thought it was cool. The original was a little too long but good too.

Zombie Killer, I know that you're former user rogerdemarco. Why delete old accounts and create new ones? Furthermore, why suddenly change opinions when changing user names?

Zombie Killer, I know that you're former user rogerdemarco. Why delete old accounts and create new ones? Furthermore, why suddenly change opinions when changing user names? Couldn't find one that sticks I guess. And for some unknown reason, even though I may be mad at a few on here, I just can't turn away. I dont know why that is. I wont be making trouble so don't worry.

Hey Mitzi third times the charm! ;D Maybe who knows quite frankly. For some unknown reason, I cannot stay away from the board. I am thinking of making my own horror message board again but like the last one, I don't think that anyone would join. On my Jeremy Renner board, there are like 3 people on it but aren't really talking. I don't want to put all that time in making a board no one will join and or talk, you know. It's like talking to yourself when no one joins Take care.

Here's something I have always wondered...
Why was there no nod toward Flyboy in the DAWN remake? Unless I somehow missed it, I don't get how they made nods and cameos of the other main characters (hell, even Savini made a cameo), but nothing on Flyboy.
You get Roger and Peter (and Blades) doing quick cameos on TV, and you have a store named after Fran... I just don't get it!
Any theories?
