If you had to choose any 'weapon' other than a firearm to defend yourself during a Z plague, what would it be and why?

I'd pick a heavy duty aluminum baseball bat. Easy to swing, very transportable, does a lot of damage.

I would choose a Louisville Slugger. Nice heavy ash wood. Or a long spear.

A katana. I'd be slicin' & dicin' with that. I could lift it easily & could probably swing it around easily. I'd be like Bruce Willis in Pulp Fiction but instead of slicing up rapists, I'd be slicing up zombies.

I'd choose a machete, it works effectively against zombies.

I'm with you on the Katana although I've always fantasised about cutting a swathe through a Z horde with a lightsabre but I guess that would be silly wouldn't it!?

A lightsaber would be amazing. Haha if they really existed, that would be my weapon of choice!

My pickup truck. Does that count? I hope so, since the likelihood of me ever being without a firearm is somewhere between slim and none.

In terms of a bugout melee weapon I guess I'd have to go with my army issue entrenching tool. Mostly because it is the most readily available melee weapon I have access to. Also it can fold away easy, and the shovel head is kinda sharp and its tough. The head can also be adjusted to form a pickaxe... just incase I feel the need to get creative with my zombie kills. ;D The only downside is it doesn't offer too much range It looks similar to this

I have one of those, deadtrick.
It's US issue, so it's a bit different. The handle is all metal and folds over. It was my Father's when he was in the service. I think it's about 20 years old and still works like a charm.

That looks a mighty fine Z slaying piece of hardware. Has anyone read World War Z? There is mention of a customized shovel in that called the Lobotomiser or 'Lobo'. I can't help thinking that would be a great name for your shovel!

Oh yeah I completely forgot about the Lobo, yeah wasn't it like a cross between an axe and a shovel or something used by the Marine Corps. I'll need to re-read that section. I think I'll definitely start calling it Lobo from now on ;D oh and I found this pretty cool diagram about fighting with a Lobo

At least we wouldn't have to worry too much about disarming the Z first (maybe?!) although I guess that shouldn't be taken for granted.
