You beat me to posting the trailer!
I think the trailer looks good. Not great, but definitely good. I think Olyphant looks like he'll be great in it.

I think Olyphant looks like he'll be great in it. Me too. He was also in Live Free or Die Hard but I was very underwhelmed by his character. Came off like a huge vagina compared to John McClane's past villains but that has to do more with the script than his performance. I'm looking forward to seeing how he does in this.

Looks pretty good. The only thing I'm weary of is the infected townsfolk look more like zombies rather then ordinary folk who've lost their mind. To me what was great about the original was the people looked normal despite their deteriorated mental state. It just annoys me that movie producers think we all need to be spoon fed visual cues that someone is a zombie. Case in point with the original the Granny with the knitting needles. She looked like a perfectly normal friendly old granny so it was a shock to see her just walk up and stab that soldier with her needles and then just go back to knitting like nothing happened. That was spooky since it was impossible to tell who was sane and who wasn't, now it seems whoever is wearing some zombie makeup and contact lenses is dangerous.
I also wonder if much will be shown of the military again or if it'll just all be from Olyphant's perspective.

whats going to annoy me is that those people who have never seen or heard of the original will call it a 28 whatever ripoff

I was pretty excited about this movie until I saw how they were making people look like zombies. It's like... come on. This isn't even a zombie movie. Lame, lame move.

I'd rather them look like normal humans that have totally lost it. It'd be easier to identify them if they look like zombies, kind of killing the element of surprise unless they pop out of somewhere & come after you. Now if they looked normal then it would be easier to catch you by surprise or deceive you due to their normal appearance.
Word.
At this point in time, I'm not really too interested in this. I'll see it eventually but I'm not going to run out & see it ASAP. Maybe on DVD or something because I'm not dropping $10 to see it in theaters.

That looks pretty cool Mirai. I'd probably opt for the Motion Comic in that case, after enjoying how the Watchmen Motion Comic turned out. I'd like to think we're not being old fogey's by clinging to the things that made the original great, but it is a little bit of shame to see it turned into a zombie flick when the original victims weren't mindless zombies at all just people driven to psychosis by a chemical/biological agent. Also they didn't all turn violent either, but judging from that trailer the stages of infection are 1. Psychosis with violent outbursts 2. Catatonia 3. Zombism, with increased stamina, a high tolerance to pain and yellow coloured irises. Now it could very well be misrepresented by the Trailer, since trailers are notorious for giving viewers the wrong impression about a movie, but by having the townsfolk turn into snarling zombies rather then crazy people just detracts a little from the story for me. Not that it doesn't still look enjoyable, its just an annoying addition.

I'll have to watch it later, but I love it when the Studios go the extra step and put some effort into their viral marketing campaign.
