Dennis Hopper.
He was great but he just didn't sell the fear factor enough. I got the whole post 911 capitalist asshole thing, and it was done damned good, but I didnt see how anyone was intitmidated by him.Do you REALLY think you would lose a figjt with Dennis Hopper?
Here you have this city of survivors, most of whom had to take out zombies, and use weapons to survive, and Dennis Hopper is keeping them down. I just didnt buy it it all. If Dennis Hopper was dressed in leather and spikes and knawing on a human arm, and acting like he did I would have bought this.
So what would have made Hopper more intimidating?

He was sort of like Hitler. People worked for him, because he helped them originally. Then he abused his power, and became to powerful. He had a security detail, miltary force, police and all other things.

It was like Osama Bin Laden, or Hitler, or Stalin, or Saddam. If people banned together, one man can easily be defeated, but some people have the power to nearly hypnotize people with speech. They stand up on a podeum and blow smoke, and if they gain one believer, another will follow, and another fill follow, and more fill follow, and before you know it (since it is human nature to want to be on the "winning team") everyone will follow.

I liked Kaufman mainly because he carried the whole "uncaring" tone throughout the movie. Speaking of tone, the tone of his voice rarely changed either. He always came off as calm...until the end of course.

My main gripes were the CGI effects...especially the zombie priest with the dangling head. That effect was fucking horrible as well Big Daddy & Riley not wanting to blow up the zombies at the end.
I can look past all of that & still enjoy the movie. It's hardly a masterpiece to me, but I still love it.

So what would have made Hopper more intimidating? Give him the shit he was huffing in Blue Velvet. That would have been interesting. ;D
