Copied from imdb: I watched this a couple of days ago. I'm usually not big into silent films (especially foreign ones), but this was pretty decent for the period. The heavy make-up creeps me out big time, even if it wasn't a horror film.

Yes I sure did. For my 20th century art history class, specifically. The film is rooted in german expressionism.
I think you'd really dig it man. Someone in class said it was available at Halloween USA.

German silent film is the best, of course I'm biased.
I was at Halloween USA a few weeks back but didn't remember seeing it.... oh well I have another reason to go back! Pretty decent store with good prices. Beats the hell out of Spirit or Halloween Express. Thanks for the heads up.

A lot of regular characters in silent film are creepy, it's the make up used during the period. Love it, love it, love it.
Have you seen the film that started it all "Metropolis"?

Indeed I have. Not bad either, and quite revolutionary.

The visuals, the story, it all combines for some real greatness. It was an almost visionary film, really quite great. I need to get the new edition that was just released, its supposed to be remastered and have some never before seen footage. I wish we could see a complete film, but that will never happen.

I loved the visuals used. Even little subtle things like the shape of window panes. Not a bad flick considering it was made 90 damn years ago! I love the carnival scenes, pretty trippy for the time period.
