After that disappointing and very homosexual part 2 which broke all the rules of the mythology, Wes Craven with New Line Cinema decided to go back by making a sequel to the first one ignorning part 2. Frank Darabont who gave us "The Blob", "The Shawshank Redemption", "The Fly 2", "The Mist" and "The Green Mile" with Chuck Russell who did "The Mask" and "The Blob" co-wrote the script with Wes Craven and directed by Chuck Russell is the most thrilling and satisfying sequel of the series that gives into the mythology of Freddy Krueger and the world of Elm Street. Lots of imagintive effects, great acting, a dark sense of humor yet manages to be scary, nice gore, a nice cast especially Patrica Arquette whom is such a cutie and there's also a neat twist near the end.
One of my favorites of the series with parts 1, 4, Freddy's Dead and Freddy vs. Jason.

I didn't find Freddy's Revenge disappointing or "homosexual." The undertones in it weren't intentional. I think fans kind of scraped the bottom of the barrel for that complaint. If you read into the things, yeah they could be there. Regardless, I'm proud to say that Freddy's Revenge is my favorite in the series. Dream Warriors is really damn good though. Easily one of the best in the entire series.

Freddy's Revenge was the first NoES movie that I saw in the theater, and the one that I still think of the most when I think of the series.
I think someone has to be looking for the supposed homo-eroticism, and if so then that says more about them than it does the movie or its makers.

(chuckle) 223fmj, I think if you're denying the homo-erotic subtext in NOES2, it says more about YOU than anyone else, pal. The NOES boxset even has a featurette called 'Psycho Sexual Circus' where Robert Englund, director Jack Sholder and Rachel Talalay talk about how gay NOES2 was. Jesse is terrified of his girlfriend and during the course of making love, runs away to a male friend's house where he QUITE LITERALLY jumps in bed with the guy, who's only wearing briefs, if I recall. The friend points out that Jesse has a hot girl waiting to do him and says "and you wanna sleep with me?" Earlier, Jesse wanders into a fricking gay bar and runs into his leather-clad gym teacher, who makes him run laps in the gym as some kind of punishment. The gym teacher is then attacked by balls (again, quite literally) and stripped naked before being killed in the shower alongside Jesse, who is also naked. Mark Patton, who plays Jesse, was even gay. I could go on and on about NOES2 being gay. There's more to it than this. It just plain is. But you know what? It's also an awesome horror sequel and in my opinion, the best Freddy film ever made. It's scary - Freddy isn't being the corny old punster he became in the later films. Freddy as a metaphor for sexuality is actually kind of interesting and again, I think if you're denying the homoeroticism of NOES2, the problem is with YOU. I'll leave you with a quote from Mark Patton, who will speak more about the film in the upcoming documentary Never Sleep Again. This is from Dread Central.

Dream Warriors was probably my favourite of the series, and my skin still crawls everytime I see Philip (was it Philip?) being controlled like a puppet by Freddy with tendons and muscles coming out of his wrists and legs being used as string *shudders* I might need to see the other NoES, but I always thought Dream Warriors had the hottest ensemble of actresses out of the whole series Partricia Arquette: Kristen Jennifer Rubin: Taryn (I found her the hottest) Heather Langenkamp: Nancy I gotta agree with Dustin on the Homoeroticism of Part 2. Did it really need that gay shower scene with the gym teacher getting stripped, tied up and then whipped with towels?
