...This ain't no jumpin'-off point for me to share one of my own, because I ain't gots one in the can. Got a yewteewb account, nothin' a'consequence.
But seriously, no, I don't have my own zombie film, nor do I have any solid plans to film one anytime soon.
I haven't logged-in in many blue moons, and the first thing on me ol' gulliver is who here has produced or is currently working on their own homemade zombie project? Or, if it so happens that you have had some involvement with larger productions, that'd be neat to hear about, as well.
I have a great amount of admiration for the barest-bones independent filmmakers out there, folks who take what little they have, but they take care with it and adapt their visions, just like George did.
I'm not talking about a bunch of 12 year olds shooting eachother in the backyard with NERF rifles, camera at one angle for twelve minutes until the little bastards call a time-out and run up to turn it off. Limp Bizkit booming out a shitty stereo that was placed next to the camera. They put it on YouTube. It gets 98 views over the course of two years.
I'm talking about folks who took the time out of their lives to get together (the hardest part), get their camcorders/whatever charged and ready and filmed their shots, read their lines, cut it together- you know, they made a movie!
Bear with me, because I am wasted right now, but I'm a roll...
We all remember that Reese Eveneshen guy from Canada? He made a zombie film of considerable length with a pretty good-sized cast back in his high school days. Was it professional? Nah, not really. Does that matter? Sometimes, I guess, yeah. But you can tell that everyone involved put their best into it, and didn't just half-ass their way through.
Same goes for his own version of Night of the Living Dead. He even had a few theatrical presentations in Canada.
So, if any of you have any zombie films from the past, or have present or future plans for one, give us details, like plot, actors, budget, possible online material like trailers, posters, what-have-you.
There should be a seperate topic on the main page for independent filmmaking projects, and not only zombies or horror.
