Never seen the original trilogy, But I enjoyed the remake very much. It's amazing how every time I see a remake, it's quality stuff and well made. I've yet to watch a remake that really sucked.

Let's see which remake you actually watch and you thought sucked (not compared to the original, I mean sucked as a stand alone film) ?

Well first things first, remakes aren't stand alone films--that's why they're called remakes. They're altered versions of films that have already been made. So right off the bat, no remake is a stand alone film.
Now if you're asking which remakes I thought sucked, fine. I can give you a whole list if you really want. Just to keep it narrowed down, I'll stick to recent horror only (although remakes in any genre tend to suck).
A Nightmare on Elm Street Friday the 13th Halloween (1 & 2) Last House on the Left The Stepfather and so on and so forth.
The simple fact is that 90% of remakes, in my opinion, are shit. There are some good ones out there too though.... but that number is far, far lower.

Halloween II was not a remake.

Is that really your response? You're going to ignore everything I answered your question with and point out an insignificant detail just so you can avoid the weight behind my reply?
And for your information, Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 is just an extension of his REMAKE. Certain scenes are even loosely taken from the original Halloween II (such as the hospital setting). You're splitting hairs man. Halloween 2 is the fart that follows the hunk of shit that was Halloween 1.

I liked all the films you listed (Especially Friday the 13th and NOES), but to each his own.
