I haven't seen this for at least 10 years, but from what I remember it was pretty good. Basically a paralyzed guy gets a monkey to assist him with daily life, but soon the little guy gets a hankerin' for some murder. Simple premise, but it delivered entertainment.

Ah, yes. What a great film this is. I remember watching it over an over as a little guy. I have an issue with small primates to this day.
The best scene is when the Monkey puts the bag over his head. Tricky little critter.

I thought it sucked. I saw it just a few years ago--before I started being more critical of GAR's work (up until that point, I was a die-hard fan). I remember watching it and thinking, "this sucks"...and lost interest completely by the middle of the flick. The old man should stick to zombies.

It was ok but nothing in it screamed great to me. I preferred his Dead movies, Knightriders, and Martin to be honest

I remember seeing this years ago & not really caring for it. I need to watch it again one of these days to see if I still feel the same way.

To be honest, I'm not even sure if I'd like it anymore. I just remember enjoying it a long ass time ago. Who knows, it might suck now!

To be honest, I'm not even sure if I'd like it anymore. I just remember enjoying it a long ass time ago. Who knows, it might suck now! That happened to me with Knightriders. Like most people, I discovered that one on early 80s cable and loved it...without knowing it was a GAR, or learning that it was one until the late 80s. About ten years ago, I found a copy at my favorite bootleg store, and grabbed it. The second time around I thought it sucked--that it was boring as a mother-fucker. Except for Patty Tallman's tits, anyhow.

Never seen Knightriders.
I haven't seen Monkey for about 15 years, not sure what I would think about it today. It was a good memory, though.

I liked Knightriders. It was boring in places & entirely too long but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Monkey Shines has been on the Comcast On Demand this month, so I gave it a look-see the other day. Not a bad movie at all, and a little more "cerebral" than the average Romero flick. Nothing I'm gonna' go out of my way to watch again any time soon, but I don't think I'd mind buying it for the right price.
