We all remember the scene in Dawn of the dead where Flyboy gets bitten and becomes a brainless vegetable (sorry, my computer won't let m insert image)
But he had a gun, so why didn't he shoot himself and spare his friends?

Because he was a zombie! He had no more human emotion. Just instinct.

No i mean before he changed. He knew that anyone bitten would change after he saw what happened to Roger.

Ah... well he probably wanted to get back to Fran, his love, before he died. And obviously he died in that elevator pretty quick, so he probably passed out or didn't have enough strength or even the time to consider capping himself.

I agree with that, he took a bite to the neck and was leaking blood pretty badly. I doubt he would've maintained consciousness for very long. It probably would've only taken a matter of minutes for him to die. He might also be against suicide. Who knows.
