The list kind've annoyed me at first, but I discovered the author based the list of what was witnessed in Dawn of the Dead, the pinnacle of zombie movies in his book. I think its easy to overlook everything that was established in Romero's Dead movies for explanations brought up in Max Brooks' "Zombie Survival Guide" and "World War Z".
