Apparently they're remaking Fright Night. I'm usually not fond of classics being re-made but after hearing the cast I'm actually kind of looking forward to it www.imdb.com/title/tt1438176/ Colin Farrell ... Jerry Dandrige David Tennant ... Peter Vincent Anton Yelchin ... Charley Brewster Christopher Mintz-Plasse ... 'Evil' Ed Thompson Imogen Poots ... Amy Peterson Toni Collette ... Jane Brewster

Also they're taking the Peter Vincent character in a new direction making him more into a Criss Angel type character rather then an old Horror actor/TV host. Should be very interesting I'm excited.

I'm a big fan of the original but it will be interesting to see it done in the modern style. Also I like the cast. The actor of Peter Vincent looks cool.

Can't say that I'm excited for another remake. I do like Tennant's inclusion in this, we'll see how it plays out.

Can't say that I'm excited for another remake. I do like Tennant's inclusion in this, we'll see how it plays out. I'm optimistic that Tennant will be able to bring his own style to the character and make him unique, but I just saw the trailer and I'm a little surprised that Tennant appears in only a second of the whole trailer. Colin Farrell does a nice job of appearing menacing, but its baffling that Peter Vincent is hardly shown. What the hell is up with that Trailer Link

The original is incredible. The sequel is a good follow-up.
My hopes aren't too high for this but I'll give a watch for sure. I've only seen a handful of Tennant Dr. Who episodes but I dug what I saw. And I'm a fan of Anton Yelchin so it has that going for it. Don't care much for Colin Farrell but I'll give him a chance even though I doubt he can top the awesomeness of Chris Sarandon.

Tennant was awesome as Dr. Who, was the only time I liked the show. I'm hoping this is good and doesn't end up being another turd stain on a great film.

I posted about this on PC, but I'll state my general feelings again here.
I usually get annoyed by almost all remakes, but oddly this one doesn't bother me that much (which is odd, given how much I love the original). From everything I've read though, it truly does seem like they're trying to pay tribute to the original instead of just raping it.
I'm not big on Colin Farrell either, but apparently the original Fright Night is one of his favorite movies, so he might actually try and do the role some justice. Won't top Sarandon, not by a long shot, but should be a decent enough film. It'll be a good DVD rental or OnDemand watch.

I haven't watched the original in ages... AGES. So I grabbed it from Amazon for a whopping $7.

It's been OOP for years now. www.amazon.com/Fright-Night-Part-William-Ragsdale/dp/B00009YXHJI have a bootleg of it to tide me over until I can get the real thing. Wish the remake would prompt them to re-release special editions of both flicks. I think FN2 is own by Lionsgate when they bought up Artisian's library after they went out.
