Seeing LAND theatrically was an amazing experience for me. It was early January when I saw it, year of release, and I went with three friends. We all had an absolute blast. I remember walking out of the theater thinking 'Yeah!!! Romero's still got it!'
Between the 28 Days Later and DAWN remake, it was about time for ol'e Georgie to show 'em all how it was done. And that he did.
Anyone else see this one on the big screen?

I saw it on the big screen on its release day. It was my local theater(since been demolished & a new one made in our mall) so it wasn't anything too amazing visually & audio-wise. My friends hated it. I was the only one that loved it. I even wore my Day of the Dead shirt that day.

I also saw it the day it came out. I remember being so thrilled that I was actually going to see a Romero zombie film in a theater!
While LAND didn't really hold a candle to the previous three, it certainly had me giddy as a schoolgirl. The Savini cameo was especially exciting.

I was thrilled to see it on opening day as well since it's the first & only Romero Dead film I've seen in theaters. I would've seen Diary if not for the limited theatrical release.

Yeah it's mind boggling that DIARY released only in like 46 theaters nationwide.

Caught it twice in the theater. I remember how excited I was, after following the movie over the internet for what seemed like forever. What made it funny was the first time I caught it, I kinda yelled out "No shit, it's Savini," which got me a few looks from the people around me.

I'd like to nominate 'The Dead Walk!' as having the coolest avatar I've ever seen. Major props to you, Tony. Why this guy isn't designing a DEAD site is beyond me. Bang. ;D

I saw it on the release day after eagerly awaiting it for months thanks to various internet horror forums. I left the theater pretty much shaking my head as did my friends who were hardcore GAR nuts. It was the end of my love affair with all things GAR at that point.

To be honest when I first saw it I was a bit disappointed it with as I had been anticipating it a lot through various Internet forums thinking it would be the Ben Hur of all zombie movies, but it was less then stellar. At the time I didn't want to admit that though and forced myself to enjoy it.
It made me feel special though to actually see one of Romero's zombie flicks at a cinema as I was too young to be able to enjoy his other works at the cinema.

In theatres, I loved the opening. It got me excited, I also loved Cholo's scenes especially the zombie cholo scene and last but not least seeing Blades as a zombie was kick ass.

I agree, Doc. Just one thing that always bugged me was how "dead" Cholo looked as a zombie. He like rapidly decayed or something... looked a lot different. He had literally JUST died for crying out loud.

The one thing I heard from both my Brother and a friend of ours after they saw Land in theaters was: great movie, but pointless. Which I have to agree with, sadly.

Watched it upon local premiere, and it was pretty good on the big screen. I think I still like Dawn '04 more, but I'm with all here who enjoyed the experience if for no other reason than it was the chance to see a Romero flick at first run.
