Despite having a good experience seeing this, I nearly bursted out with laughter whenever one of the poor CGI effects would be shown...especially the atrocious priest zombie effect. That's something I'd expect to see in a Sci-Fi(SyFy!) original movie.

That's something I'd expect to see in a Sci-Fi(SyFy!) original movie. That scene was indeed CGI, but it was so short and subtle, I couldn't care less. I really didn't see it coming, and when the zombie head suddenly appeared and bit Manolete I was shocked. Really impressive, original gag. That's one of the reasons I love Romero films so much, every one of them has those amazing, shocking gore gags.

Great idea. Executed poorly.

I actually saw the head gag coming a mile away. They really should have used a practical effect, especially since they could have used quick cuts to hide the fact it was a fake head or something.

Same here. It was just really poorly done, especially when it was actually gnawing on Manolete. Hahahaha. I'm sorry but that effect better not have cost them too much because it was shit on a stick. There's no way that poor of an effect could've been more expensive than a practical way to pull that off. It's like Playstation One graphics.

Haha yeah totally. When it's actually chomping away, it reminds me of a CGI barracuda or something. So so fake.

Nope. It's as fun as bashing Rob Zombie & it's not going to stop any time soon either so if you don't like it, you know your options.
You never get tired of getting on us for having different opinions about things than you do you?

Yeah I certainly got more enjoyment out of the Dawn 04 theatrical screening as well. The only thing to rival the experience in the cinema so far has been 28 weeks later. That was amazing the detail they put into that world and a huge punch to the balls (I mean that in a good way) watching everything unfold

I wish I could see this theatrically but I became a horror fan 2 years after Land was released. In 2005 I wasn't interested in horror at all. Could've been a great experience to watch this film in the cinema.

So wait... you've only even liked horror films since 2007? And you waltz around here preaching to US (dedicated horror fans since childhood) about what good horror is? And what good effects are?
Please.
Knowing this information, I can only scoff at you from now on when you try to debate someone on horror.

It's not about playing catch up with watching a shit load of movies, it's about appreciation.
