You're lucky, I didn't even get to see it in the theater. There wasn't a single screening in Michigan!

Actually, you might be the lucky one. He drove 100 miles to see it. You went to a store and saved yourself the gas money.

Actually, you might be the lucky one. He drove 100 miles to see it. You went to a store and saved yourself the gas money. It wasn't so bad. Drove from milwaukee to chicago to see it. Ever since i sneeked/snuck into the day of the dead showing, when i was 12 (that film messed me up for quite a long time) i made sure i'd see all the other dead films also in a theater. So far, dawn of the dead is the one i haven't been able to find. It's kinda funny, when i was in chicago for diary, the only other people in the theater besides me and my wife were, no lie, all at least in there 60's. dschoenike

Two new news links, both involving the new poster... AND another one that accompanies it!
The Dread Central link provides two high res versions of these posters. The new one outlines the plot much better. I will be updating the "Plot" section up top very soon.

So do you think it's official that it is called "... of The Dead"

I'm not so sure... but it's definitely looking that way. If it is, I think it's an awesome name. If not, no big deal.

Another new news link... this one a couple of days old. It seems as though even though some actors are coming back, NO characters are returning from DIARY. This means a stand alone film with stand alone characters!
So rest easy folks, it's 100% confirmed to NOT be a sequel to DIARY.

Greetings. Sorry if this has been posted already, but i couldn't find anything. Does anyone know/has read if Gregory Nicotero will be involved in anyway? I'm really hoping so, and also hoping they use less cgi in this new one. In my opinion, the best cgi will never compare to the fx done in Day of the Dead. I think better and believable effects will go a long way into making this a more enjoyable movie. Anyone agree? dschoenike

I actually kinda don't want Nicotero on this film. Just my two cents though.

I actually kinda don't want Nicotero on this film. Just my two cents though. That's cool, but why do you feel that way? I know with Diary, it was his idea to have the zombies have their lips kinda pulled up and back to give 'em a more snarling look. I personally didn't like that aspect, but i still enjoyed the film. I think my desire to have Mr, Nicotero working on it, is in the hope that they'll go more old school with the effects. For me, it would be awesome if they could pull off a nc-17 rating on this film. dschoenike

I couldn't agree with you more on wanting more of the old school practical effects. For me though, Greg Nicotero sort of represents how I don't want zombies to look. He's not all bad, but it seems like he tends to make zombies look inhuman... almost monster-ish. I prefer the zeds that just look like us ordinary humans... sometimes with the occasional gash or missing limb.

I agree with ya 100% Like i said about Diary, why all of a sudden did the zombies have their lips pulled back? Just didn't seem right to me. I did like the "eye" effects though, like the girl who shot herself and turned in the hospital. But your so right about the zeds needing to look more human rather than monsterish. Especially if the whole premise of the film is that the (some) living are trying to coexist with the dead. Easier to believe if the dead don't look super duper freaky. I just want it to be a kick-ass, old school zombie film dschoenike

You and me both man.
The thing that always bothered me a lot in these films (mainly LAND and to an extent DIARY) is that someone would die, and literally minutes later look like a vampire reject from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I'm looking at you, Cholo.
Give me a DAWN zombie any day of the week.

I hear ya. Don't know how they can die, and mins/an hour later all their facial features changed and their teeth get sharp? I feel that Dawn got it right for the zombies being dead a fairly short time, and Day doing a great job of showing zombies being dead for considerably longer.

Anyone else come across any sort of news lately? For a bit there it was coming fast and furious, but it's been quite a while since anything.
