There's no actual thread for the Halloween series as a whole aside from Rob Zombie's shitfests & Halloween III: Season of the Witch. This thread is for discussion of Halloween 1-2 & 4-8. Discuss the other films in the appropriate threads. I love the original series. Halloween 1, 2, & 4 are easily the best. I like 5 through 8 but after Halloween 4, it was a downhill trip. Rankings: Halloween (1978) Halloween II (1981) Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988) Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995) Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989) Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998) Halloween: Resurrection (2002)

For me RZ Halloween is FAR from a shitfest. From the original series I like H20 and Resurrection the most.

Good for you. This thread isn't going to turn into a huge argument about it because honestly, no one cares what you think anymore.

Ok no need to argue, we still have something in common, we both like Michael Myers and his films (well most of them).

For me RZ Halloween is FAR from a shitfest. From the original series I like H20 and Resurrection the most. From anyone else, I'd think this post was a joke. Honestly. I love the Halloween series, with 1 & 2 being my favorites. I agree, Fly... after 4, it's just not up to snuff (although still highly watchable). Oh, and Halloween III rocks hard.

Although I can get into H20 & Resurrection, both are easily the worst of the original series.
Halloween 5 would've been better if Tina wasn't so damn annoying. And if Rachel wasn't killed off.

Ah, the Halloween series is very close to my heart.
H1 - Obviously the best. A rare, perfect film. H2 - A shitfest without enough story to fill a thimble. Shame on you, Rosenthal. H3 - A cult-classic treasure. A gem!!! H4 - An intelligent and stylish recharge of the series. H5 - Embarassingly bad follow-up that shits on the ending of H4. H6 - A well-intentioned film that got screwed up. Very stylish. Good performances. H20 - My favorite sequel! The hunted becomes the hunter. A brilliant script. Curtis makes it. Resurrection - Shits on H20. Shame on you, Rosenthal.
So that's my $.02.

I am quite surprised that you don't like H2.
I think H4 has a great Halloween feel to it. Love it.

I know that Halloween II is one of my favorites behind the original. There are times when I do like it better but at the moment, I rank it number two behind the first. I pretty much like the movies in chronological order.
I love the opening to Halloween 4.

I am quite surprised that you don't like H2. I think H4 has a great Halloween feel to it. Love it. Just noticed this really doesn't make sense. I meant to say that H4 has a great fall/halloween time feel to it. The scenes with the tractor and pumpkin. I'm a sucker for that stuff. Tonight it's going to be Flesh Eater. Only 2.5 weeks! My rankings: Halloween Halloween III Halloween II Halloween 4 Halloween 6 H20 Halloween 5 Halloween: Resurrection
