I also love the artwork I mean its a return to 80s' painting like artwork and is a big improvement over any artwork for land and diary, it really fits in with the original trilogy artworks, lets hope magnolia/magent sticks to this awesome vintage style artwork like they did for House of the Dead and Return to Sleepaway camp for the DVD release.

I loved it. SOTD definetly (my opinion) felt like it belongs with the original big "3". There we're a few less than stellar cgi effects, but overall I thought the acting and story were very solid. And to top it off, it gave me the biggest laugh out of all the dead film. "jesus christ boys, what the fuck was that". I still crack up thinking about that scene. After seeing SOTD a handful of times now, my raniking of the films would be 1, Day of the Dead 2, Dawn of the Dead 3, Survival of the Dead 4, Land of the Dead (guilty pleasure) 4, Night of thr Living Dead 5. Diary of the Dead I know NotLD belongs up near the top, but my list reflects more on which id rather watch first. I love em all. I really belive Mr Romero has a few more great films left in him that I hope he tells. Keep em coming.

Didn't really love it but didn't hate it either. I guess it was decent. The CGI effects are some of the worst I've ever seen though. Sarge was a pretty cool character. Probably the best thing about the film. That and the shooting locations were pretty rad. So I guess I'll give it a yay since I didn't think it was horrible.
Didn't feel much like a Romero flick to me but then again anything after Day of the Dead hasn't felt much like a Romero flick despite some of the output being good stuff(Two Evil Eyes, Bruiser, Land of the Dead, etc.) As of right now, this is probably my least favorite Dead flick. He'll never top his first three but I was hoping he'd top the pretty good Land and the decent Diary. Nope. Maybe I'll warm up to it more with repeat viewings. It could've been so much better but also could've been so much worse. It entertained me so at least it did that much.
As much as it pains me to say it, I think George is way past his prime.

I think that pretty much sums up my feelings on Survival and Romero as well.

FINALLY watched this on Friday night. Netflix had it on instant view throught the Wii.
Enjoyed the hell out of it. I think it might actually go over Land for me. A huge improvement from gawd awful Diary.
I'll buy it on disc, and put it with the rest of the series, sans Diary.

I almost bought the 2 disc version at Wal-Mart a few weeks back but decided not to since I'm poor at the moment & even though I didn't mind Survival, I didn't want to drop $15 on it.

Hmm. I might drop that for the 2 disc. DVD's are getting so damn expensive.

Yeah I need to purchase it myself as I'm a completionist, especially with Romero's zombie flicks.
