I don't think NOTLD ever needed life breathed into it. It's a timeless classic.
If modern horror fans are bored by such a great movie, then they should just stick to watching all of that terrible schlock that hits the theaters these days.

Does Casablanca need life breathed into it? Or The Maltese Falcon? These movies are untouchable.
I find Night to still be quite relevant. Heck, there's even a decent remake that was spot on. The colorized version reminds me of the color version of It's A Wonderful Life. It just doesn't fit. There are certain things that are meant to be seen in 2 colors. Anyone who has seen IAWL in color knows that Pottersville doesn't work in color. The zeds in Night are an example. Not as scary.

Hell, I watch Night of the Living Dead more than many other newer movies that people would consider "fresher." I watch it at least 3-5 times a year. It's one of my most watched films that I own.
If I had seen the remake & was around this age in 1990, it would've made me want to revisit the original. I know I would've left theaters happy since I loved NOTLD '90 & would want to go home & pop in the original.

I simply dont like black and white films unless they are extremely old like 1910-1940.

I love movies of all colors.
If a movie is good, it's good despite if it's in black & white or color.

Just a personal preference in film. I am entitled to my own opinion, I hope. Of course! I know that most older BW films are more grainy, have more specks and such. Some people like that. Most of the older BW stuff is very clean, some people don't like that. That's why I asked. Personally, I don't care what color or quality a flick is, as long as it is entertaining.

There's nothing to get. I just felt like singing the Meow Mix jingle.

Okay, I felt like I was missing some subtle joke. Love the new skin and banner.

That reminds me of the episode of The Simpsons where Homer sings "Meow meow meow meow" because he thinks Bart can read his thoughts. I think it was the episode where Bart played hokey & had to defend Mayor Quimby's nephew in court.

Different horses for different courses, I guess.
I'm a fan of the B&W version, and have never liked the colorized versions as much. Like others have mentioned, the Hal Roach version was the first colorized copy I'd seen, and it was terrible.
I'll grant that the newer rendition is much better, but it's just not for me. Sorta' hard on these old peepers.
